Hi Tweets

Dan post reminded me of another Acorn Woodpecker story. One fall I was
driving in the Sierra Nevada foothills in the oak zone. We came around a
curve and a huge old dead oak was standing by the road (must have been 4-5
feet across at breast height and probably 20-25 feet tall). This tree was
absolutely filled with acorns spaced as closely as possible, and on all
sides of the tree - I don't know how many thousands of acorns there were,
but the birds had been working overtime to accomplish this.
