Hi Tweeters:
Today my wife, Pat, and I decided to try for the Adams County Snowy owl discovered by Craig and Judy Corder, even though it is a lengthy drive from the Tri-Cities. We headed directly up to Mile 234 on Hwy. I-90, but no owl nor had we seen one further south. After circling Sprague Lake without success and crossing I-90 on Wellsandt Rd. to check the west side of the highway, again with no owl, we returned to Danekas Rd. and drove down to the east end of the fence row that we knew ended near the Mile 234 sign on I-90. Here we stopped for lunch before heading home. One last look yielded a Snowy owl just a little south of the fence. Success! We then noted another white spot across I-90 which the scope revealed was a second Snowy owl. Double success! Both owls could be viewed at once so we knew there were two. Good luck to anyone who heads for Adams County for a Snowy owl.
