Paul Hicks asked me to forward this message for him:

Tweets,
Sunday afternoon Bob Sundstrom and I verified the identity of an immature PRAIRIE FALCON at the site at the Thurston/Lewis Co line where several seasons ago a Gyrfalcon hung out. Revised directions (Delorme 46/45): Southbound Old Hwy 99 (accessed off I-5 via Hwy 12/Grand Mound Exit 88 westbound, then
immediate left at light); west on Prather Rd (just north of county line); after .5 mi angle left at the gravel road (219th?), cross the bridge and from the 90-degree turn check the utility poles directly ahead (southward, Thurston Co). Also check the solitary conifer snag to the SSE (Lewis Co). Directions to snag: Continue south on Old Hwy 99; west on Goodrich (just south of county line); cross the slough bridge; right on Wagner. Please respect the wishes of the residents--they've had negative experiences with birders: Park on the graveled shoulder; exercise care on the soft grassy shoulder; stay on the county road, do not block traffic and avoid the
furthermost houses beyond the "end" sign. The retired lady at the blue house offered parking in her concrete driveway if you'll check in. Also present: Peregrine Falcon, White-tailed Kite, redtails, eagles, kestrels, harrier, as well as plentiful waterfowl including a few Trumpeter Swans, Redheads, and Eurasian Wigeon (also reported by Sullivans).

Good birding!
