Greetings,
On Sat. Jan. 7th, Bill Tweit and I birded several places on the Waterville Plateau, including brief stops at Brewster and Bridgeport State Park. Lots of snow on the plateau, some fog, but all in all not hard to get from place to place.
Highlights include the following:
300 Bohemian Waxwings at Bridgeport State Park.
4 Sharp-tailed Grouse along Foster Creek on Bridgeport Hill Road at 1:30 in the afternoon!
1 Eurasian Collared-Dove at Mansfield near the grain elevators.
Gray Partridge at various places on the plateau.
1 Prairie Falcon.
2 Golden Eagles.
8 Rough-legged Hawks.
thousands of waterfowl on the Columbia River between Brewster and Bridgeport.
No Snow Buntings, Redpolls or Gyrfalcons.
