Subject: [Tweeters] Eagle Nest- Rebuild?

I drove by the Bald Eagle nest located along Pioneer Way between Puyallup
and Tacoma today, only to find no nest. I think it's been about a month
since I last drove that road, so I don't know if this is old news or not. My
first thought is the recent stormy weather may be to blame. Of course, it
did cross my mind that it may have been vandalism. The nest is near the
former site of a heronry that had developed on a hillside above a private
trout hatchery. When nobody was looking, all the nesting trees were cut
down. I don't really think vandalism was the case with the eagle nest.
I got out of my car and could see large sticks and other debris at the foot
of the tree from my vantage point next to the road. A single adult Bald
Eagle was sitting in a nearby tree. For those unfamiliar with this site,
eagles have nested here for a number of years in a snag about fifty feet
from the roadway and even closer to the very busy Burlington Northern
tracks.
Are the pair likely to rebuild at the same site?
