I'll echo Diane Yorgason-Quinn's statement of amazement at Raymond
Parson's photos of Western Grebes in flight. I've seen this probably
no more than 10 times in 38 years of living in this area and seeing
thousands and thousands of Western Grebes. Red-necked and Horned fly
a lot as they move between feeding grounds, the other grebes much
less. Try to remember how many times you've seen a Pied-billed Grebe
fly! Of course some of Raymond's birds are just trying to get off the
beach, as opposed to flying past over the water, but the shots are
still great and educational.

Kudos also to Cathy Wise for her spectacular Short-eared Owl photos
and to all the other photographers whose photos are a pleasure to
peruse.

I find I've become so committed to photography that I can hardly bear
to go out in the field without all my camera gear. Birding to me has
evolved into photographing birds.
