Michael & Tweets:
I was waiting for your report after watching the 5:00 news on King5. They
flew over Lk Sammamish, and peoples' million-dollar homes' front yards and
docks are underwater.
Kent Valley is very deep out in the fields. The Green River in the Kent
Valley is as deep as I've ever seen it (up to the tops of the banks). I'm
wondering how much more the fields can flood down near 277th and I-167?
West Valley hwy is getting some deep puddles. Nevertheless, folks were down
there apparently looking for the Tufted Duck. I don't think they found it.
On Frager Rd, where it turns west from the W Valley hwy along the Green
River just south of Kent-DesMoines Rd, in the far west end of the big
"strawberry field" there were 10 Tundra Swans. 1 of these was a juv. Also
60 Dunlin in that area, and a couple of interesting gulls. Started to rain,
and I didn't figure them out. On appeared to be a leucistic possible hybrid
gull with white primaries and a few black spots, but the bill wasn't right.
The other might have been a 2nd year Ring-billed.
Birding today was "interesting" as I had sun, and a whole lot of heavy rain
too.
Who'll stop the rain?
Yours, Carol Schulz
DesMoines

> Tweets - Water - Everywhere. That's the news from Marymoor. The water
> level at the gauge was at 6.27 feet. That's the second-highest reading
> I've ever had there, beaten only by an estimated 7.25 feet on 1/2/1997,
> and beating out the 5.93 feet of 12/19/2001. The water level was only
> 5.10 feet last Wednesday, so it's up more than a foot since then.
