Hello,



Spent the late morning back up at the burn area along Highway 25 (Gifford
Campground - mile maker 56 from Davenport {Highway 2}). At least two pairs
of Black backed Woodpeckers, numerous Hairy & Downy Woodpeckers, a few
Flickers, a fly over Pileated and one female WHITE HEADED WOODPECKER. All of
these were within 100 yards of the northernmost parking lot in the
campground, the white head down close to the river. Also in the area were
Clark's Nutcrackers, all three nuthatches, and Red Crossbills.



Found a Northern Pygmy Owl on the Addy Cedonia Rd about 9:30 this morning



Further south along highway 25 (mm 54) was a mixed raft of Lesser and
Greater Scaup.



At the Hunters Campground (also along Highway 25) a White Fronted Goose
rested among a small flock of Canada Geese.



Back in Davenport, there was a flock of 500 plus Bohemian Waxwings.



Just west of Reardan along highway 2, an adult Golden Eagle (seen at least
three times the last month) and a Prairie Falcon.



Three Snowy Owls:

1) Corner of Old Kuchs Rd and Rocklyn Rd (runs south off of Highway 2
about three miles west of Davenport). This bird has been here since mid
December.

2) Just north of Highway 2 along Bennett Rd (between Reardan and
Davenport)

3) Right on the Spokane County line - off Highway 2 south about 200
yards (caught and ate a rodent - made me want to get home for dinner). This
bird seems darker than the one we have been seeing along Waukon Rd. Last
week I observed the Waukon bird a bit further south.



Two Short Eared Owls flew across the highway just south of Davenport.
