Hello Tweets,

This week's featured bird photo is a lovely pair of
western grebes, Aechmophorus occidentalis, in honor of
the waterlogged grebes beached in the Seattle area
whose recovery is being assisted by local bird rescue
organizations. As always, this issue of Birds in the
News is packed with lots of great information.

I have some other news that might interest you. After
several months of negotiations, my blog, Living the
Scientific Life, moved to a new server yesterday. This
is an experimental project by Seed Media Group where a
group of scientist-bloggers were invited to move their
blogs to a special server that is being designed to
meet our blogging needs. This is an effort to provide
good information about science to the public in a "one
stop" location. You can learn more about this move at
this URL;

Please be sure to update your bookmarks and feeds.

My original "blogspot" site will remain in place and
will serve as my "deep archives", and I will mirror
all essays posted to the new site on the "blogspot"
location until the end of January. Why? Because the
blogspot site is a finalist for a bunch of blog
awards, and I'd like to win one of them (with your
help, of course). FINALLY, one of those awards has
opened its polls. You can vote once every 24 hours, so
feel free to cast as many votes as you can for me. For
more information about this particular award, read
this

and to cast a vote, go here;

Many thanks for all your comments, suggestions and
help with tracking down bird news links! I hope you
like the changes that are occurring.

Devorah
