Hi Tweets -
No luck on the Iceland Gull today - several birders were out checking
the promising spots all day, including a group of us who held vigil
at the 212th & 59th St. fields all afternoon.

Before the afternoon watch, I checked a variety of other spots in the
area, on a day that even offered blue sky off and on:
TUFTED DUCK - present only early in the morning, at the same spot
Gene Hunn reported it yesterday - Frager Rd. , off W.Valley Highway.
I saw it there around 9:00 or so, and heard several negative reports
from others throughout the day.
Also present in that flooded field were several Canvasbacks and many
Ring-necked Ducks

Down at 277th &W.Valley Highway, the 6 swans were still present, half
Tundra & half Trumpeter.
I heard from others the Redhead was still present there as well.

At Boeing Ponds, the Green Heron was around, as were many of the
regular ducks including at least one Eurasian Wigeon. A Peregrine
Falcon flew by late, close to 5:00.

Down at Emerald Downs, on M Street, a female American Kestrel was
hunting the fields.

And up at the mouth of the Cedar River, in Renton, around noon:
Peregrine Falcon
Greater White-fronted Goose - 20, in the usual spot, over towards
Gene Coulon Park.

Finally, along 212th [west of 59th], 7 or more Dunlin were hanging
out with the Mew Gulls.

Hopefully, the Iceland Gull was just loafing in the sunshine today
and will get back to its rainy day routine tomorrow,
