I just wanted to let birders know about a new CD, "Bird Songs of the Puget
Sound and Washington State" by nature recordist Martyn Stewart. It was
recorded in this area, so all the dialects are local. The recording quality
is excellent, and Martyn has provided individual tracks for most species, so
replaying a certain species is easy, and many of the tracks are quite
lengthy. The CD also ends with two really beautiful tracks, a dawn chorus
recorded in the Methow Valley, and Bird Sounds of Wenas. I plan on using
the CD as an aid to learning my bird songs, but I also found that it was
enjoyable to listen to from beginning to end.
