Just returned from a trip to E. Wash. with 17 from Tacoma. Pays to have
lots of eyes out there.
We covered Waterville Plateau, Central Ferry Cyn, Dyer Hill Rd., Foster Ck.,
Bridgeport SP, Havillah
area, Twisp and Wintrop. There were not too many winter specialties, but
the raptors were
outstanding. Here's a few.

N.Goshawk, 2, 1 C.F.C., 1 Havillah
Many Red-Tailed Hawks, 1 Black morph C.F.C., 1 Red morph Havillah, 1
Harlan's Twisp
~25 Rough-leg Hawks, 2 Black morphs
10 Golden Eagles
Merlin, 2, 1 Tiaga, 1 Prairie male at Withrow, only 3rd one I seen in the
state.
Prairie Falcon, 2 1 Waterville, 1 Twisp
Gray Partridge, 15 Lamoine, 20 Withrow
Sharp-Tailed Grouse, 3 seen by only 4-5 in group as they flew from Foster
Ck.
Herring Gull, 1 Bridgeport
Eurasian Collared Dove, 3 Mansfield
Great Horned Owl, 1 C.F.C, 1 Havillah
Snowy Owl, 2 1 west of Mansfield, 1 east of Mansfield
N. Shrike, 6 3 Waterville plat, 2 Havillah, 1 Twisp
Townsend Solitaire, 2 Lincoln Rock, north of Wenatchee
Bohemian Waxwing, 98, 18 C.F.C., 80 along hwy 17 flying toward Bridgeport SP
Snow Bunting, 104, 100 Waterville plat. near Bridgeport Hill rd. along hwy
172, 4 Twisp

Only regrets, no redpolls and not keeping better tally on Rough-legs, I had
no idea we would see
so many.
