I spent some very brief moments on Fir Island yesterday, off the south shore
access at Maupin Rd and also at the Skagit north fork access past Blake's
Resort. It was relatively quiet, with maybe a thousand snow geese, a few
harriers harrying each other, no owls of any kind, a half dozen eagles, one
red tail, two dozen swans, and another thousand dunlin. I didn't have my big
heavy scope with me for the distant waterfowl. But the wind and rain were
negligible!

Boe Rd on Port Susan ends at property posted with NO TRESPASSING signs, and
there's no apparent public access beyond the road. I didn't have time to
check the Big Ditch.
