Of course, one can argue hybrids 'til dooms day, but the bird
photos by Charlie pretty clearly show a bird in the Thayer's/
Iceland complex and way over on the Iceland side at that.
I think Glaucous, Glaucous-wings and various genetic combinations
there of can be excluded at least to the degree that parentage
(grand-parentage, etc) can be in gulls.

This is the time of year for northern gulls. Yesterday I was
with a group from Eugene on the Necanicum Estuary and we found,
in a fairly small group of gulls, a Glaucous x Herring and
a bird that was in almost every an adult Glaucous except for
the very dark eye (making it Glaucous x G-W).

But carry your camera, take good notes, expect doubters.
