Tweets - water levels are down, but there's still a lot of water at
Marymoor. The slough trail and the interior of the dog meadow are still
closed. The water in the interior dog meadow area *is* attracting ducks and
gulls. Going around the other way we were able to walk/wade the whole
boardwalk, but could not get from the boardwalk to the slough trail because
of high water. We were barely able to get to the Rowing Club dock in our
tall boots.

So that's the wet news. The weather was a delight for most of the morning,
with sunshine and warm temps while the sun was out. At about 11:00, the
wind picked up bringing clouds and rain. We kind of scurried around the
mansion and the rowing club in drizzle, with real rain mostly holding off
until the drive home.

As for birds, it wasn't very birdy. We did have a few highlights:

Cooper's Hawk Good looks at a couple of juvies
Pileated Woodpecker Pair in tree near dog area parking lot
Winter Wren Got a few actual views of these skulkers
Cedar Waxwing Brief, extremely distant view of ~5
Western Meadowlark 5 flushed by a COHA in East Meadow

Had pretty good duck numbers, especially with the attraction of water
everywhere:

American Wigeon 8

Green-winged Teal 2
Ring-necked Duck 5
Bufflehead 15
Common Goldeneye 1
Hooded Merganser 1
Common Merganser 2

It was a nice walk while it lasted.

For the day, 51 species. Pileated and waxwing were new, bringing the year
total to 73 species.
