I see no one offered a golden plover story so here's one. My wife and I were
at Bottle Beach St. Park on an incoming tide which pushed the delightful
array of shorebirds up close. One golden plover came so near we couldn't
focus on it with our binoculars. It stood on 1 leg and preened for several
moments, a view of a lifetime.
