Hello everyone,

I have just moved to the Seattle area & have been
reading Tweeters for the last month or so, but haven't
seen anything about this of late:

Wednesday I was birding along Canal Rd. at Montlake
Fill and saw a BARN SWALLOW flying out over the water.
I watched it for ~10 minutes to be sure, since it was
very unexpected.

Then on Friday as I was backyard birding, two BARN
SWALLOWS made a few passes over the nearby houses &
yards (I live near 258th & Marine View Drive in Des
Moines).

Isn't it early for _any_ swallows to be returning to
the area? Or are there a few that are overwintering?
