I have twice seen a harrier swoop into my backyard here in Ocean Shores,
much to my surprise. It is densely surrounded by Coast Pines, Sitka Spruce,
willow, myrtle and salal...perfect cover for the birds that frequent my
feeders, or so I thought.

But then, I never thought I would see a peregrine take a drake mallard in my
driveway either!
