Today while my sister and I were birding at Port Susan (The Nature Conservancy) in Snohomish County, someone attempted to break into my car. We returned to the car just in time to avert the break-in. The individual got in his car and burned rubber, fish-tailing down the road, nearly landing in the ditch a couple of times in making his hasty retreat. My car has a bent-up antenna and a couple of scratches, but nothing was stolen.
Thanks to binoculars, I got the license plate number, and reported the incident to the Snohomish County Sheriff. This happened at 10:15 this morning. Broad daylight on a dead end road.
Our search today for SNOWY OWLS was successful. We had a long look at one bird at Jensen Access on Fir Island and a much closer look at a 1st yr female at Big Ditch in Snohomish County.
Be careful out there.
