Hi Tweeters,
This afternoon, following the lead of other birders, we traveled on Coulee-Hite Rd. from Seven Mile Road to the prairie grass area south of Hwy 2. There we counted 9 Short-eared Owls seen at one time. What a show! At the northeast corner with McFarlane Rd. were 3 Am. Tree Sparrows hopping on and off the fence. Other raptors included Northern Harriers (at least six), and several Rough-legged Hawks (including one dark phase). Though we dipped on the Gyrfalcon, the afternoon was a real treat.
