Hello all,
Today while hiking Coppei creek east of Walla Walla we came across masses of
Ladybugs - we usually see this in March - not in Jan! There were also lots
of midges and other bugs in the air.
The Am. White Pelicans have developed their breeding knobs on their bills
already and a few Ring-billed Gulls are showing a pink blush.
Say's Phoebe's seem to be back - one was flycatching up Coppei creek this
morning for the third sighting this month.
Added 3 birds to our county year list - #105 - Pileated Woodpecker, #106 -
Fox Sparrow (slate-colored), #107 - Chestnut-backed Chickadee - 10 of these
cute little birds!
Later, Mike
