Sunday July 02, 2006:
PILEATED WOODPECKERS, a singing BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK, AMERICAN GOLDFINCH,
HOUSE FINCH and CHIPPING SPARROWS are visiting feeders along Day Place in
Parksville.

Thursday June 29:
A COMMON LOON, 80 CANADA GEESE, two MALLARDS, four COMMON MERGANSERS and a
GREAT BLUE HERON were seen at Nanoose Bay behind the Church Camp.
TURKEY VULTURES, a MERLIN, RING-NECKED PHEASANT, CALIFORNIA QUAIL, KILLDEER,
GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULL, ROCK PIGEON, BAND-TAILED PIGEON, ROUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS,
NORTHERN FLICKER, PILEATED WOODPECKER, WILLOW FLYCATCHER, NORTHERN CROW,
COMMON RAVEN, CEDAR WAXWING, SWAINSON'S THRUSH, AMERICAN ROBIN, EUROPEAN
STARLINGS, RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH, BUSHTITS, BARN SWALLOWS, VIOLET-GREEN
SWALLOW, CHESTNUT-BACKED CHICKADEES, AMERICAN GOLDFINCH, HOUSE FINCH,
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS, YELLOW WARBLERS, WILSON'S WARBLERS, SONG,
GOLDEN-CROWNED and CHIPPING SPARROWS, DARK-EYED JUNCOS, SPOTTED TOWHEES,
BREWER'S BLACKBIRDS and three singing BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS were seen just
off Corfield and Despard Road in Parksville.

Tuesday June 27:
TURKEY VULTURES, BALD EAGLES, SHARP-SHINNED HAWKS, RING-NECKED PHEASANTS,
CALIFORNIA QUAIL, RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS, DOWNY WOODPECKERS, NORTHERN FLICKERS,
PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHERS, NORTHWESTERN CROWS, COMMON RAVENS, SWAINSON'S
THRUSH, AMERICAN ROBIN, WINTER WREN, VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOW, BARN SWALLOWS,
CHESTNUT-BACKED CHICKADEES, AMERICAN GOLDFINCH, HOUSE FINCH, MACGILLIVARY'S
WARBLER, SONG, WHITE-CROWNED and CHIPPING SPARROWS, SPOTTED TOWHEES and a
BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK were seen at the end of Corfield Road near the railway
tracks in Parksville.

Monday June 26:
A PACIFIC LOON in full breeding plumage and BRANT GEESE in light plumage
were seen at the Nimpkish River Estuary, on the North Island.
A pair of AMERICAN GOLDFINCH, BALD EAGLES, SPOTTED TOWHEES and AMERICAN
ROBINS are visiting a backyard in the 1300 block of Lanyon Drive in
Parksville.
AMERICAN GOLDFINCH and HOUSE FINCH were at feeders in the 100 block of
Meridian Way in Parksville, when a SHARP-SHINNED HAWK appeared and the
songbirds left. AMERICAN ROBINS chased the SHARP-SHINNED HAWK away.

Tuesday June 20:
A BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK was sighted in a old tree in Parksville near
Parksville Bay.
