Subject: [Tweeters] Ants at hummingbird feeders: any effective repellants?

Hello All,
We have several hummingbird feeders, tacked up with nails to various beams
around the outside porch areas of our house. We find that after a short
time, sometimes just days, ants find the feeders, dive in to the enclosed
sugar water, commit ant-suicide, and then the hummingbirds are,
understandably, no longer interested.
Has anyone out there found a way to repel these unwelcome invaders?
Feel free to answer off-list.
Thanks for any info,
