Friday, June 23, 9:58AM. Hello. This is Craig Kemper, (206) 789-9255,
reporting for Friday June 23. In Magnolia, I was able to relocate the HOODED
ORIOLE at approximately 9:20 AM on Magnolia Boulevard West A road designated
as a private road with a Dead End sign. The bird was locateed at a birch
tree about half way down that road at the first big bend looking northwest.
The bird flew from the birch tree to a pine tree southeast.
Good luck.

Saturday June 24, 10:14PM. Hi. This is Steve Mlodinow. Today Charlie
Wright and I birded a stretch of southwestern Washington.. The best birding
was along the Long Beach Peninsula where we had 150,000 SOOTY SHEARWATERS or
so go by in 2 1/2 hours, With them was a dark Pterodroma at Ocean Park about
150 yards off shore, seen for three or so minutes, likely a MURPHEY'S we did
not see it well enough to identify it as to species. We also had two
SHORT-TAILED SHEARWATERS, a PINK-FOOTED SHEARWATER, 1500 plus CASPIAN TERNS,
a couple of COMMON TERNS, good numbers of pelicans, COMMON MURRES, a couple
of RHINOCEROS AUKLETS, and a couple of TUFTED PUFFINS. Really an impressive
number of birds moving by.
At Ridgefield we had 9 ?????, 7 LAZULI BUNTINGS.
The BAY-BREASTED WARBLER was present the first thing in the morning at
the usual spot. There were 24 BULLOCK'S ORIOLES in the Sillicoos (?) Bottoms
area as well.
That's it. Good luck and good birding.
