Tweets,
Heck!! Vicki King and I were down at the BB Warbler site this a.m. at 9:30--heard the bird once and saw it very briefly about 100 ft. down from the yellow sign (below the gate) before it flew off down 1909. It didn't sing again even with a tape and pishing until 5 minutes after Barry Levine and Marv Cooper left--about 1:10 p.m. Then it sang intermittently for about 40 minutes, but was only seen once, flying from the left to the right side of the road (with one's back to the gate.) The bird was 2 or 3 layers into the trees, about 15 ft. from the tops. No movement was detected at all. And at no time did we feel that the bird was singing in response to tape or pishing--all seemed spontaneous. This was pretty frustrating as we felt we knew right where the bird was. We think it was taunting us. We did see a Hermit Warbler, and there were lots of OC and BT Gray Warblers around. Oh well, it was a pleasant day anyway. But heck!!
