We tried twice to see this warbler and failed both times. Heard it the
first, but not the second. Sunday, June 24, we took an afternoon drive up
from Vancouver partly to get out of the heat here. Spent about 45 minutes
around 3:00 then drove up to the Coldwater Creek Visitor Center. We stopped
again about 5:30 on the way back. Second try was Thursday, June 29 on the
way to Seattle. Stopped for about 45 minutes around 6:00. This time, no
singing either.

On both occasions, we saw both Black-headed Grosbeaks and Cedar Waxwings.
Fun day on both occasions and the timing did mean no log trucks and little
dust. We did have a close call with some kid coming across the one-lane
bridge leaving the swimming hole. Vision there is not the best.
