Hello Birders,

We have just updated our website with several new photos from our recent 3 day trip to the Tri-Cities area of eastern WA. These photos include one of the three Black-throated Sparrows present near Vantage,as well as a Lark Sparrow at the same location. Other photos of the trip included American White Pelicans,a pair of Buffleheads,a family of Common Ravens and 1 of many Common Nighthawks near Horn Rapids Park. These photos can all be accessed at the following link: http://www.pbase.com/godwit/recent_photos/

In addition we have placed 20 dragonfly scans onto our website of several different dragonflies we located on our trip. Our primary dragonfly specialties of the trip included the Columbia Clubtail, which is very local in the Columbia Basin at just a few favored locations. Other dragonfly highlights for us included the Sinuous Snaketail, which is also quite local within the Columbia Basin, but we managed to locate several specimens along the Yakima River. Of the 12 species we observed on the trip these 2 latter species were our most sought after,as well as the large Western River Crusier. This is a species we had not located in 2005 upon a similar trip,so they may vary in numbers from year to year or move around. Our most recent dragonfly scans can be accessed at the following link: http://www.pbase.com/godwit/dflyscans/ .

It was a great trip for dragonflies and for birding, although very hot at times! We hope you may enjoy our new photos and dragonfly scans!

Sincerely,

Ruth and Patrick Sullivan
