Hi all -
I managed to sneak out twice today between lots of other non-birding tasks.
In the AM, I spent a couple hours at the Arboretum trying to find the
Lewis' Woodpecker & Phainopepla. Did not succeed on either front, but
I'm hopeful one or the other might yet be found. For the record, I
know of another few folks who went to the Arboretum throughout the
morning , also all w/o luck.

In better news, Llama lake near Sammamish kept a hold of its
shorebirds. As Paula Flores reported yesterday, the muddy edges are
doing their job.
This afternoon, there was at least one SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER, 1 or
maybe 2 SEMIPALMATED PLOVER, several LEAST SANDPIPERS, and a few
families of SPOTTED SANDPIPERS and KILLDEER. The baby Spotties are
very very cute - fuzzy balls already bobbing their featherless tails.

Directions from Seattle-
Take 520 east to 202.
202 south to East Lake Sammamish.
Drive south on E.Lk Samm about 3.5 miles to Inglewood Hill Rd.
Turn left onto Inglewood and drive a little over 2 miles. [Inglewood
Hill Rd becomes 8th about 1/4 mile before the spot].
Llama Lake is on the left when you get to 235th NE on the right.

Good fall birding,
