There were two Wood Duck mamas, one with four ducklings
about 2-3 weeks old and one with ten babies about a
week old. They were in the slough east of the dike
intersection.
Other highlights: Cedar Waxwings, Yellow Warblers,
Swainson's Thrushes, two Eagles - one immature and one
just getting adult plumage. One lit in the top of a
tree and it looked as though a Belted Kingfisher was
going to harass it, then thought better of going it
alone.
Butterflies: Western Swallowtail, Cabbage Whites (lots),
Lorquin's Admirals (several)
