Hello All,
I am blown away by this discovery. To see a Northern Shrike in July must be
a first for the Pacific Northwest. Our latest date for this species is 5 May
and the earliest date is 10 Sept. so a July record is outstanding!!
Thank-you Ruth and Patrick for photographing this shrike. I looked the
photos over and believe the bird could be in suspended molt and that maybe
the reason for the browns and grays. Very odd plumage indeed. What do others
think?
Later Mike
