Hi,

On our way to Tacoma to visit my father, Thais and I stopped by Magnolia and found the Hooded Oriole in the usual place--about half way down the small dead-end road. It did not sing but gave some small calls, not the rattle call. It sat in the sun atop a cedar tree for 1-2 minutes in the sun. Beautiful and worth the detour for sure! Matt Dufort had seen it fly over while down the next road over just before we arrived. On a role now we went to Kent Ponds and saw the Yellow-breasted Chat. Rainer was spectacular from both places.
