So, the Spousal Unit decided she needed a vacation and booked us a trip to
Leavenworth for several days next week. We're not twitchers, but cool birds
are always a plus, so any suggestions for hikes with cool birds within, say,
an hour or so of Leavenworth?

My son likes raptors in particular (well, of course! What boy doesn't?), but
he's also fond of "cute" birds. Any interesting slope-steppe birds? Good
places to see bluebirds, even? I'm not interested in lifers, just in seeing
lots of birds. We depart Seattle Sunday and return Thursday. Given the kids
and the dog, I doubt the birding will be particularly great, but I'll keep
track as we go.
