Hi Tweeters,

While birding along Umtanum Road yesterday with my son Deyland, we spotted three small, newly fledged birds fluttering around on some rock scree. The scree was located maybe a quarter of a mile before bluebird box #5 on the left side of the road if one is driving away from Ellensberg. Ponderosa pine dominated the vegetation in this spot. The birds were joined by an adult on and off, who often fed them. They looked exactly liked Pygmy Nuthatches to us. They were definitely not White-breasted or Red-breasted Nuthatches. Are Pygmy Nuthatches sometime seen in this area?
