I've had two sightings of flocks of Red Crossbills in the past couple days here in and around Elma. On Sunday morning, I was out in the foothills north of Elma on the A-2300 road where I heard and then spotted a flock of about 15 Red Crossbills flying to the southeast. Then just this morning, I heard a flock flying over my house. These sightings are the first of the year for me. Perhaps the siskins are not too far behind.
