Hi Tweeters,

Yesterday about 8 pm, I was at Lower Oak Bay Park and watched an osprey fly back and forth over the incoming tide, hunting for fish. Was neat watching him hover in one spot. He didn't catch anything while I was watching, and then flew to other waters.

I wish I had had someone with me. I saw another big bird slowly fly over. I have never seen a bird like this before. It was larger than a big gull. dark above, lighter below. Some "streaking" near the neck and head. Wing position was similar to a booby, also coloring. My first thought was an albatross, but I ruled th at out immediately! I don't think it was that big!! but wing shape as it soared was certainly like one.

Anyway, I would be interested if anyone else sees anything similar to this in this area.
