Today a number of Juncos have been flitting around my back yard cherry tree
and some shrubs adjacent to my back deck. They've been making all sorts of
clicking and popping sounds. They also seem to be all gray in places where
others have the ruddy color. I wish they'd hold still long enough for me to
photograph them. One was pale gray and the other was a strong, bold gray.
Were they young Oregon Juncos or an uncommon variety?
Also, in the mammal watching department, my husband called me to the deck
where, out in the south side yard was a handsome buck deer with three prongs
on its antlers. It was foraging on our weedy rubbish pile!
