After the Haywoods discovered an alternate plumaged
SANDERLING at West Medical Lake, I ventured out and
saw this bird around 7:00 PM this evening (7/22/06).
The Sanderling was a great looking bird and Spokane
County lifer for me too.

Later in the evening, Kim Thorburn and I saw a
POORWILL fly across the road near Lower Granite Dam in
Whitman County. We heard a couple more Poorwills
calling off in the distance, but I was happy to have
obtained a visual (albeit briefly) on this county
lifer.
