Michelle, and Tweeters,
I was in the middle of family funerals when the initial information came out about these condos; they are just a couple of houses down from the eagle nest. I will try to get what information I can on this to you in this email so that you can respond to it asap Public comment ends on August 4th.

This is to be a 92 unit condo site on 4.82 acres, considered a high density residential.

site location, 7001 W. Tapps Highway (nest is 6711), within the SE 1/4 section 28, township 20 North, Range 5 East, Willamette Meridian, Pierce County Washington Parcel Numbers: 0520272007, 0520281013, 0520281015 , 3037000221, 0520381032.

As you may know, this is next to a public park, and the boats are really bad during nesting season, the nest is across the street from the lake, maybe 100 feet from the water. They are planning on boat slips as well. Lake Tapps has turned into a summer nightmare with the boats over the past several years, and this will make it worse, for the nesting family, traffic jams all over, as well as in front of the nest, esp on weekends.

Unfortunately for me, the Legal Description is too small for me to read even with my glasses.

I am sending this to Tweeters, for anyone else who is interested and has ideas about this situation.

We have lost a huge amount of woodland directly behind this proposed site, where the eagles spent the winter gathering limbs for their nest, (I rarely have Pileateds now, they disappeared overnight).

I see nothing but trouble for this area, and especially for the nesting eagles.
The fact these are probably rentals causes even more concern for this family.

Whoever has any ideas at all please email me, or even call my home number,
253-862-5517. Because I have been out of town for so long, I wasn't aware of the severity of this situation, because the first documents were mailed while I was in Kansas, attending first my brothers funeral and then a few weeks later, my step dad.

By the way, one eaglet, the larger one, fledged on Friday, and actually flew into my yard, and sat for quite a while, blinking her/his huge eyes in wide eyed wonder. She basically crashed into the top of 120' fir tree, and just sat there. I was inside calling my husband to come home and see, when she took off, back towards the nest. Don't know for sure if there is a second bird anymore. Haven't spotted them together for a while. One did leave the nest over a week ago; and land in a lower part of the tree, and seemed to be the more active of the two eaglets. I think because of their moving around now, it is harder to find where they are, so I am assuming they are both alive and well. I don't know what the mortality rate is at a later age. They were both fine in late June/early July.
