There was a minus tide of more than a foot about noon today, so I took my
walk from Owens Beach down to the Light House. I saw a Bald Eagle on the
way down there and one on the way back which could have been the same bird.
Also on the way back were two Belted Kingfishers between Crab Point and the
light house. Right at the light house there were fresh deer tracks in the
sand and I know the park has a good population of them as I've seen them
before. Have also seen deer outside the park in the residential areas close
by.



That stretch of beach fascinates me in that it is almost untouched. Few
people walk that far from the parking lot, and the strong currents and
sliding hillside defy anyone to do anything permanent to it. It's wonderful
to have such almost natural spot so close to home.
