Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday July 27. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at
503-233-3976.

On July 21 a COMMON GRACKLE visited a feeder south of Newport. The
GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE at Fern Ridge Reservoir, and the INDIGO BUNTING on
Steens Mountain, continue to be seen. On July 24 a YELLOW-BILLED LOON was
seen at the Sallys Bend area of Yaquina Bay.

Local nesting birds are now dispersing and are showing up in unexpected
places. Juvenile shorebirds are now arriving and the first BLACK TURNSTONES,
SURBIRDS, and TATTLERS are being seen.

A COSTA?S HUMMINGBIRD is now visiting a feeder at Port Orford. On July 12 a
SNOWY EGRET was at Cutler City on Siletz Bay. A WILLET was seen July 24 at
Seaside. On July 25 a BREWER?S SPARROW was in the Rogue Valley north of
Central Point.

That?s it for this week.
