Dear Tweeters,
Today's (July 28th) King County Journal had an article about a federal audit that showed that the USDA Wildlife Services department has failed to secure biological agents and toxins used to kill wildlife. The article stated that: "At issue is how the department handles and stores the poisons it uses to kill animals such as starlings, wild turkeys and chickens, black bears, coyotes and wolves that are considered a nuisance".
Wild turkeys and chickens? It is bad enough that the federal government is killing our nation's wildlife in response to every perceived problem, but why in the world would they be killing wild turkeys and chickens? How much damage could wild turkeys and chickens possibly cause? Does anybody have a major infestation of wild turkeys and chickens or a clue as to why they are being killed?
