Hello Birders of Washington State,
I've been reading Tweeters for the last week or so in preparation for my
whirlwind tour of the Olympic Pennisula Aug 6 -12. I'll be renting a car
and camping and leaving from Portland (friend's wedding). Here's what I've
got in my head for an itinerary; I'd appreciate modifications (i.e. places I
really should not miss, things I can't possibly do logistically time- or
distance-wise) and suggestions for campgrounds. I think some parts I'm
really pushing time-wise and distance-wise and would appreciate any
suggestions.

Sun, Aug 6: Portland to Fort Canby to Hoquiam/Grays Harbor; camp around
Ocean CIty.
Mon, Aug 7: Gray's Harbor to Quinault to meet up with other PA friends;
camp around Quinault
Tues, Aug 8: time with friends around Quinault; camp around Hoh
Wed, Aug 9: Hoh to Forks to Port Angeles, camp around Port Angeles/Heart of
Hills
Thurs, Aug 10: meet up with other friends (from PA & Settle) someplace on
the west side of the Olympic Pennisula or at some cool place on Puget
Sound...? stay at friends' house in/near Seattle or camp someplace around
Puget Sound (on west coast vs Seattle)
Fri, Aug 11: Seatlle/Puget Sound environs to Portland; stay at friend's in
Portland
Sat, Aug 12: early flight home

Thanks in advance! Please feel free to email me directly at
