I know that Spruce Grouse have been found and photographed by Denny
Grandstrand near White's Ridge along the North Fork Ahtanum Creek west of
Yakima. Also, a biologist friend of mine who works for DNR says that they
are commonly found in "appropriate habitat" in the Ahtanum area (South,
Middle and North Forks). This appropriate habitat, from what I understand,
would be areas of Engleman Spruce/Silver fir/Western Larch. Thus, one does
not have to be near the Canadian border to locate this species.

Of course, I could still use one for my life list...LOL.
