May 25, 6:09 PM - This is Greg Toffic. Today Eric Kowalcik, Roger
Wilkinson, and I birded from Skagit County to Whidbey Island. Our
most notable sighting was a BROWN PELICAN at Point Partridge on
Whidbey. Good luck and good birding.

May 27, 6:35 PM - This is Steven Mlodinov reporting on a couple of
days in eastern Washington. The main highlights were at St. Andrews,
the marsh at the corner of 6th & N. There were 440 BLACK SWIFTS, a
migrant flock present yesterday and a male EURASIAN WIGEON. A
EURASIAN WIGEON actually summered here a couple of summers back,
possibly the same bird. At Wenatchee Confluence State Park yesterday,
just before the bridge going to the Horan Natural area there was a
GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW. Today was pretty slow. At Washtucna there was
HERMIT/TOWNSEND hybrid. Three TURKEYS. I guess TURKEYS have shown up
about last fall, probably wild origin or at least from introduced
populations which have spread naturally. Otherwise, precious few
migrants. Down at the Walla Walla River delta there was a GREATER
SCAUP, a BONAPART'S GULL, and three GLAUCOUS-WING GULLS. Good Luck
and Good Birding.

May 30, 7:17 AM - This is Dianna Moore in Ocean Shores, Washington.
Tuesday morning, May 23rd, at 10:15 AM I received a report from a
Rayonier employee that on Sunday afternoon he saw a CRESTED CARACARA
feeding on a dead raccoon with a TURKEY VULTURE also there on Highway
12 between Oakville and Rochester, about half way. He didn't get a
mile post. He said it was one half mile south of the "D" route off
into the forest, which is a foresters term, of course. Thank you.

May 30, 7:50 AM - Hi. This is Dianna Moore. A small correction or
better directions on the CRESTED CARACARA. On highway 12 it's between
Oakville and Porter, about a half mile south of the "C" line. Hope
that helps.

May 30, 1:37 PM - This is Dr. Hans Knowle (sp?). My phone number is
206 781 8495. I live in a house above Shilshole Harbor and I can see
the BALD EAGLE'S nest above the Ballard locks. My question is whether
this nest has been abandoned, because for the last two days the two
eagles that regularly sit there have not been there. I wonder whether
anybody knows about this. Normally in past years they had chickens at
this time of the year. Please tell me what you know about it. Thank you.
