This is the second Mourning Dove I've seen in Auburn in about a month;
the other was on the banks of the river at the salmon hatchery. The one
I saw yesterday surprised me more, though, as it was in a residential
neighborhood a block or two from downtown Auburn. Of course, in other
parts of the country Mourning Doves are commonly found in just such
neighborhoods, but around here I only see them rarely and almost always
in rural spots.
