I've neglected to post sightings from Marymoor Park for the past couple of weeks. Some highlights:
BALD EAGLES -- a constant presence around Lake Sammamish, both adult and juvenile; 17 counted on June 2nd.
SPOTTED SANDPIPERS -- 4 flying downriver from Lake Sammamish, on June 3rd.
MOURNING DOVE -- 3 on June 2nd, 2 on the 3rd; in cottonwood snags by Lot G parking (near the compost area).
BLACK SWIFTS -- seen on several occasions; the most this morning, with 66 near the north end of the lake.
LAZULI BUNTING -- male, usually singing, near the compost area or south into the east meadow; on May 29th, June 1st & 2nd & 3rd & 4th (today). I haven't seen the female since the 26th.
WILLOW FLYCATCHERS -- one singing bird is often visible in a willow along the Interpretive Trail just south of the big dog meadow; I've seen/heard as many as five in one day, in various locations.
SWALLOWS -- Barn, Tree, Violet-green and Cliff are all being seen, regularly.
CEDAR WAXWINGS -- common throughout the park; two nests observed in the woods on the Interpretive Trail north of the lake.
