Hi Tweeters,
The Baltimore Oriole at Marymoor was very vocal this
morning. I heard more than I saw it. It is also very
active going between the Rowing Club and back and
forth over the slough. My best view was from the dog
park side looking over the to the Rowing Club. He was
singing at the top of a bare branch. He did not seem
as orange as the Baltimore Oriole I only think I saw
at Wanapum Park last week, but he did have an all
black hood and a very pretty song.
It was very helpful to dig out my Peterson Western
Bird Song CD's last night to listen to the song before
looking for the bird.
I also sighted Matt and David this morning in the dog
park.
Thanks David again for posting this rarity. This has
been a good year for interesting Orioles in
Washington.
