Wonderful day on Umptanum Road today. Singing birds everywhere! The
highlight was a White-Headed Woodpecker just a few yards beyond
bluebird box #45. It was foraging on the tall, dead tree at that
location. (Thanks to all who sent suggestions about where to find
this bird at the Wenas Campground.) We also had a Lewis's Woodpecker
feeding at the roadside and then flying into a nest hole just off
the road. The only bird we found at the campground was a Red-Naped
Sapsucker.
