Hi Anne,

I've gone on several Westport Seabirds trips over the last few years. I have
not gone out with the Newport group although I have heard good things about
them.

I am always extremely impressed with the crew of Westport Seabirds. I have
observed them, on many occasions, taking special interest in those who are
out to sea for the first time. Their spotting and identification skills are
superb and they do emphasize safety.

My suggestion would be to go to Newport AND Westport :-)

Subject: [Tweeters] pelagic

I am what I consider an "advanced beginning birder" and I want to go on a
pelagic trip at the end of the summer (Aug or Sept.). I have looked into
two trips, one out of Grays Harbor, WA (45 miles out) and one out of
Newport, OR (35 miles out). Both trips list similiar birds. Can anyone
give me any suggestions as to which might be more appropriate for my birding
level, or if there are any other reasons I should favor one area over the
other?

Thanks,
