Gary Bletsch asked about driving in Oaxaca, Mexico.

We've never been there, but we have driven in the states of Nayarit,
Guerrero and Yucatan without any problems. Gene Hunn would be an obvious
resource for details of Oaxaca as his research project is there, and
Yahoo has a Birding Mexico discussion group that would likely be of help
as well. My inclination would be to rent a car, and just not leave any
valuables in it. It would also be nice to get a trip report when you
return, as this is the part of Mexico high up on our travel list.
